You will need to bring the following as a minimum as renting rebreather and technical equipment in Malta is limited.
- Your rebreather.
- Drysuit or thick semi-dry as you will be diving in Spring and the water will still be cool from the winter months.
- Offboard drysuit inflation cylinder and suit inflation first stage and hose, if you plan to use one.
- Please bring spare oxygen sensors as there may not be a huge supply of these in Malta
- Three bailout regulators for those diving to 75 metres, we would prefer all divers used three bailouts on all dives, but the use of two bailout cylinders on dives to 60 metres maximum with shorter runtimes will be allowed. These regulators must include a second stage, SPG and inflator hose.
- Fins
- Mask
- Backup mask
- Gloves
- Hood
- SMBs. Some divers carry two SMBs: a red/orange SMB, and a yellow SMB. Note that yellow is used for emergencies in Europe.
- Two reels or spools. At least one must be longer than the depth you are diving.
- Cutting devices
- Lights
- Backup trimix CCR computer
- Surface signalling devices e.g., mirror, whistle, GPS etc.
- Don’t forget your camera!
